Ava DuVernay Boycotting Super Bowl Over NFL’s “Racist Treatment Of Colin Kaepernick” First of all, who? Second, people can just stop trying to think they're going to blackmail the NFL into making Colin Kaepernick a thing. He's a mediocre player who blew his 15 minutes by trying to use his workspace as a platform for social justice peddling. His employer has every right to kick his ass to the curb for creating drama. All the other teams have every right to look at his mediocre record and his penchant for creating drama and decide they don't want to pick him up. It's not racist to not be interested in hiring the guy. Third, because of all the drama and media attention he managed to still score a multi-million dollar ad deal with Nike to promote their products. This despite him being a so so player who these people only even know about because he was taking the knee and being a disrespectful ass on the company dime before it was cool. I think he's doing all right for himself. "Kaepernick has a pending grievance against the NFL, alleging a conspiracy by owners over his social justice activism." Even if it's true and owners collectively decided against hiring him, it's not a "conspiracy" nor illegal for owners of NFL teams to decide they don't want to hire him because of his activities outside the sport (which he was NOT keeping outside the sport). Why is an arbitrator even allowing this to go forward? Used to be people understood that if you shit the bed with an employer and drug their name thru the mud publicly with your crap that it was pretty obvious that they and other similar industry companies were not going to hire you. Fourth, WHO CARES? People just want to watch football and not be preached at.

Fourth, WHO CARES? People just want to watch football and not be preached at. Yeah, in the NFL, team owners and coaches don't want drama within their team. Even very good players have been traded for not getting along with team mates, such as Terrell Owens and Randy Moss. Such players are referred to as a ''Cancer in the locker room''. Even Tim Tebow was cut from the Pats, because he wouldn't listen to Bill Belichick, who told Tebow to be a running back or tight end, but Tebow said ''It's God's plan for him to be a quarterback'' and choose to allow himself to get cut. He was obviously never going to beat out Brady for the starting job, and why would he want to be a backup quarterback , when he would get much more time on the field playing as a running back or tight end. Tebow fans claim no team wants him because he's open about being a Christian, when in reality, football is a team game, not about an individual. As for Kaepernick , he had a good final season , but nobody wanted to sign him, because of the drama he brings. Truthfully, I think Kaepernick is good enough to at least be a backup quaterback, he's still better than a lot of the other shitty QBs floating around, but he also brings political baggage with him that could divide a team.

Shannon Gabriel has extended an "unreserved apology" to Joe Root and the wider cricketing world for his sledge during the St Lucia Test, which has since led to a four-match suspension on him, also calling the episode an "opportunity for myself and all athletes to recognize the need for sensitivity and respect in their interactions with all". The exchange occurred during a tense moment on the field. The pressure was on and England's captain Joe Root was looking at me intensely as I prepared to bowl, which may have been the usual psychological strategy with which all Test cricketers are familiar. "I recognize now that I was attempting to break through my own tension when I said to Joe Root: 'Why are you smiling at me? Do you like boys?' "His response, which was picked up by the microphone, was: 'Don't use it as an insult. There's nothing wrong with being gay.' I then responded: 'I have no issues with that, but you should stop smiling at me.'" ------------------------ Do they seriously think of a little bit of cheekiness as a ''homophobic slur'' ? It sounds like Gabriel was just joking around, all he said was '' why are you smiling at me, do you like boys'' ? It's just a bit of gamesmenship. Joe Root then had to be an SJW and make a big deal out of it . Eventually humans will become like robots , where we can't make innocent jokes anymore. If Gabriel called Root a faggot, or used a derogatory tone, then action should be taken, but asking somebody ''do you like boys? '' as a joke is not derogatory. www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/25992851/do-boys-apologetic-shannon-gabriel-comes-clean-joe-root-sledge

Context and intent matter. People have gotten WAY too uptight about stuff and seem to think anything anyone says should be seen as a personal slight to not just every single person from a "marginalized" group today but the entire history of people that have ever existed and identify with that group. This is how we get people to just stop talking to each other all together, because why risk it.

I saw one match where she was teamed with Asuka and they steamrolled a couple of jobbers. Edit: In 2016, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter called Sane and her fellow Japanese workers Io Shirai and Mayu Iwatani "three of the best wrestlers in the world".[13]

She's holding a basketball, so this is sports enough.

Serena Williams Sent Apology Letter to Naomi Osaka After U.S. Open: I ‘Couldn’t Find Peace’ I’ve said it before and I will say it again: Serena Williams is a terrible sportsman. Everything is always someone else’s fault. Here, even when she’s “apologizing” and taking blame she’s still deflecting and saying it’s not really her fault. It’s all the Patriarchies fault that she can’t show emotion and passion. If she honestly was sorry for her behavior toward a fellow athlete it wouldn’t have taken prompting from a therapist to get her to write an apology. And if she were truly sincere she wouldn’t have used such an impersonal method of apologizing like typing a letter. She also wouldn’t be bragging about it in a magazine article. She’s still managing to make even that all about her. Then when she talks about the penalties she received and the media coverage she got for “sticking up for herself” she has to make it about how the male dominated system won’t let women express emotion. Never mind that a male athlete of her standing behaving in the same way would have gotten the same penalty and media coverage. In the end the media still plays their typical role in gushing all over her and nodding their head that she’s a victim in all this, rather than the cause of her own problems. And thanks a lot for that pic People Magazine. I didn’t need that image burned into my brain.

Simona Halep wins Wimbledon, and her 2nd grand slam, blowing Serena off the court in the final. I must admit, I didn't expect such as one-sided final. I'm happy for Halep, because she lost her first 3 grand slam final appearances, before winning her first grand slam, which was the French open last year, and winning Wimbledon (the most prestigious of grand slams), is a great reward.
Kinda reminds me of when Andy Murray lost his first 4 grand slams before winning his first grand slam, and eventually won 2 Wimbledon's and 2 Olympic Gold medals.
