Major SPOILERS for Terminator Dark Fate Why Terminator: Dark Fate Delivered That John Connor Twist, According To Tim Miller Tim Miller: "I'm just not a fan of the Chosen One sort of movie." Also Tim Miller: "I was all for this being some new person that wasn't connected to the Connors and had been chosen by the hand of fate." WTF? Why doesn't he just go ahead and admit that he's just another Rian Johnson and thought the only way to make a Terminator movie in 2019 was to crap all over the original and T2? That he thought this really needed to be a movie full of wokeness and an indictment of US Customs and Border Patrol? I HATE when sequel movies that follow up other films render the outcome of those movies pointless. Other perfect examples: Alien 3, Halloween 5, Star Wars: The Last Jedi... Yeah SPOILERS it seems they killed off John , just so they could replace him with a woman to be the chosen one. I thought the movie was ok, but killing off John so easily so he could make way for Dani did feel forced...

I was really into it for the first thirty minutes, but as it went on and it slowed down and characters started talking exposition at length the realization dawned on me: they had completely run out of ideas because the story was basically just Terminator 2 again. They didn't take the story in a new direction or anything, they just sort of repeated what had been done before. It's still entertaining (the action scenes kick ass), and its better than Genisys for sure (not that that's hard though), but it played it as safe as possible, which is disappointing. I really liked Grace (she was great) and Linda Hamilton was awesome as cranky old, take-no-shit Sarah Connor. Dani was the weak link to me, and she felt underwritten and uninteresting compared to the others (one the terminator and sarah connor are in the picture, Dani just becomes a human plot device). I was also disappointed in how shortchanged Arnold was - they had huge potential to do something with his character, and they just didn't. They had a cool idea, and instead of developing it they delegate it to a few lines of dialogue.

All of the Terminator movies after T2 have their issues but I at least still find them watchable and enjoyable, not bland or repetitive... and not full of agenda messaging.

Disney from the sounds of it plans too lock all Fox properties in the vault and re release them much like they do with their animated movies. That's alot of movies removed and locked away. The Princess Bride, Planet of the Apes, X Men, Deadpool, Alien, Predetor, Home Alone, Avatar and many many more. This really pisses me off as it also has been stated Disney plans to make some of these fox titles exclusive to their streaming service meaning you have to pay for their subscription to get access to them.

I doubt they will lock away titles like that but making them exclusive to Plus sounds VERY plausible.

I don’t see them doing anything to jeopardize DVD sales but I definitely see them ensuring that they have complete control over the streaming revenues.

I was just thinking to myself this morning how annoying it is that Hollywood keeps taking TV shows from the 70s and 80s that were action/drama and turning them into crappy comedies making fun of the source material. Now this. Since when is Fantasy Island about horror? It feels like someone thinks they're being clever and original here too. They just mashed up the Saw franchise with Fantasy Island as if that somehow makes it worthy of a film treatment or somehow new and interesting. It doesn't.

Better
If only, say, HBO had listened to the visceral fan reaction when the script for season 8 leaked TWO FUCKING YEARS before it came out and people FUCKING HAAAAAATED IT.

Damn if this doesn't have a super 90s vibe to it. Jim Carrey is doing what made him famous. Can't say I was ever really that big a fan of that but this doesn't look terrible like it did in the last trailer. Sonic at least doesn't look horrific now.

You know what I'll go see it opening weekend. The director listened to fans. Didn't call them entitled. Not alt right whiny baby's who didn't get there way. Legit the redesign alone gets it my ticket

Sadly, old news. I bitched about that last spring/summer. There is a legit metric TON of shit on + though. And the Mandalorian is worth the price of admission.

If you were on the fence about The Mandalorian... get off. This was really fucking good... even if Disney only has ONE FUCKING EPISODE up right now. All Hail Dave Filoni, Master of Star Wars. I have spoken.
