OK. You've got my attention Those CGI dogs though. Yeah, they are a little jarring. At least the main character isn't a black trans rutabaga or some shit.

This newest Star Wars cartoon just seems laughably bad, especially after The Clone Wars and Rebels.

This newest Star Wars cartoon just seems laughably bad, especially after The Clone Wars and Rebels. Yeah, even the Kool-Aid drinkers at Gizmodo (commenters, not staff) mock it for how awful it is. The consensus seems to be this is REALLY for kids. Little, tiny kids. Kids who would be just an entertained by Baby Einstein and Pinky Dinky Doo.

It had two IMMEDIATE strikes against it with me; first the animation is garbage and second it's related to the Sequel trilogy. I don't care if it sucks but I don't see where it had any choice.

Jussie Smollett Files Counterclaim Against Chicago for Malicious ProsecutionSo let me get this straight. Jussie Smollett LIED about a hate crime, the city of Chicago wasted money on a false investigation, Smollett is exonerated by way of some sort of plea deal, and now he's turning around to sue the city for "malicious prosecution"? Like, the dude lost his job and suffered emotional distress all because the city went after him for.....you know, LYING to law enforcement, wasting tax payer money and almost making a complete mockery of the justice system? You expect me to feel sorry for you, Smollett? You reap what you sow, you get what you deserve. Don't blame the city of Chicago for your bullshit. Everyone knows you're a liar, and the only people defending you are social justice warriors who are still somehow deluded into thinking you were "treated unfairly".

So now they're copying Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade too. This looks like they just mashed the airplane and motorcycle chases together with a Star Wars coat of paint. And that comedy is cringe.

Not to sell Abrams short, but at this point Rise could be a legitimately good movie and I just don't care. It can't erase the garbage that came before it, that it relies on for storytelling. Especially in the wake of Fallen Order, I just don't have the stomach for a sub-par Star Wars story. Blame Reean Dickchild, he fumbled the most important part of the Sequel Trilogy. If Disney wanted to redeem it, then they would have taken the unprecedented step of de-canonizing it and letting Abrams just helm the entire trilogy, in order to have a cohesive narrative. I don't have time for, what is essentially, a film school project.

Shocking that it was "Finn" who lost it.
