So I don't have the energy for any kind of involved update. Here was my 4 days off: Various homework - 10% My exam - 0% (oops) Battletech - 10% Arkham Asylum - 5% The Dark Knight & the Dark Knight Rises - 10% Halloween - 20% Kingdom Come - 50%
Man that game is good.
So I slaughtered Runt. I tried to save the video and planned a big writeup but I accidentally clicked picture instead of video and it was lost FOREVER. So, instead, here's a very well-acted cutscene of my NEXT big story mission.

So hyped about this. The Diablo series has always been dark and morbid----Diablo IV merely amps it up a notch. Diablo 3 was too colorful for my liking. Well, I never saw it that way actually. Diablo 3 was pretty gruesome. The Angels made it even more unsettling. But yeah, Diablo IV is much darker and a whole lot more gruesome by nature. I absolutely love that.

Now I definitely need to buy this game if for no other reason than because it would piss off SJW media outlets.

Now I definitely need to buy this game if for no other reason than because it would piss off SJW media outlets. I read about the nonsense before it launched. The creator was labeled Gamergate because he shared our opinion that it was all a bunch of nonsense started by Zoe Bell's infidelity and unprofessionalism. But I then pushed it aside because of my backlog. I'm kind of sorry I did now. If I'd known what an excellent RPG is was I would have gotten to it sooner. This is truly a black sheep of gaming; ostracized and outcast for SJ politics but living on and growing in popularity due to the excellent experience it provides and word of mouth.

The gripes against this game show the pure stupidity of SJWs. They bitch about the game not being inclusive because it doesn't have non-white characters, gay and trans representation, etc. Never no mind that this game is supposed to be a story told in a re-creation of real world Bohemia circa 1400. So there weren't any non-whites and anyone found to be LGBT at the time likely would have found themselves getting stoned to death. The game isn't some indictment of current era politics so there's no way to spin it as the West is evil.

China imposing a video game curfew for people under 18. edition.cnn.com/2019/11/06/asia/china-bans-online-games-minors-intl-hnk/index.html------------------- I don't see how it will help much. Gamers under 18 could just use an account from a family member who is older than 18. Nice to know the Chinese government is also trying to tell people what they can/can't do with their own money (I already knew this, because they restrict how much money Chinese nationals can take out of China). I think it's the responsibility of the parents to decide which hours their kids can play games, and if a kid does have an addiction, they can get psychological help , rather than punish all Chinese kids.

Ok, people. I've got a big question for you:
Imagine you had to go to cushy Norwegian Jail for 10 years and you had access to ONE video game. One game for the next ten years. What would you pick and why?
For me the answer is Battletech. The game has a main campaign but the Flashpoints expansion makes that pretty much endless. With a ton of space to adventure in and an open-ended Firefly-type setup I could see myself reasonably enjoying Battletech fairly perpetually.
What about you?

Not my usual go to but I feel like an RTS would be good for this. Replayability is much more versatile with variable outcome compared to other games. I used to play a lot of Star Wars Rebellion and Galactic Battlegrounds back in the day. Like A LOT a lot.

That was a good game, I have it on GOG right now, but I think a RTS would grate on me after a while. I prefer Turn-based. In fact a good Civilization or Nobunaga's Ambition might do me as well.

I haven't played too many turn based strategy games unless they also happened to be JRPGs. I really like Final Fantasy Tactics but I don't know that the replayability would stretch me for 10 years.

I love LOVE Ogre Tactics: Let Us Cling Together and Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 2 but the linear nature to the stories would prevent me from sticking to it for 10 years. So something rather open-ended, storywise, like Civ, BattleTech, Master of Orion... basically a lot of the PC games where you can write your own story. I guess maybe Skyrim, to a lesser extent, but even that would get old after a while. Edit: That said, if they'd make a SW Rebellion that was turn-based I'd play the FUCK outta that.
