Nothing political I feel like talking about at the moment. But I can't see this thread remaining empty for long.

Ok I'll start. This is a copy paste of something I wrote on the Warrior Clan we aren't supposed to talk politics there unless it has to do with gaming so I had to be careful with what I wrote. Obviously while this is about Far Cry and Persona it is also about Trump and his fake news BS, and a bunch of southerners who think the game is about killing them. Here it is: I can't believe that I'm writing this. Ok first up some back story. This blog is about political events effecting gaming. I'll try to stay as far away from a political discussion as possible, this blog is definitely about games! There is a nasty current trend that originated in RUS politics and has spread to the UK, US, and AUS that is now getting into gaming news that is downright awful: fake news propaganda. Propaganda of course has been around ever since man told his first lie, but these days it seems to be getting into everything including gaming. Now I have to accounts on twitter; one I use for gaming I go there and collect news for us to enjoy here, the other is for hobby two global politics. There I follow leaders and oppositions from all over the world I've made friends on the left, right, and centre. I've been attacked by a lot of Nazis & insane people, and been subjected to fake propaganda, lots of it! My gaming twitter account is normally a lot less stressful but a few days ago I found out that Ubisoft had started a Far Cry 5 twitter account. Excited that I could bring you guys some news I quickly pressed the follow button and began to read (I've posted a lot check it out!). Okay so we know that Far Cry 5 is set in the USA with a cult based on Christianity. Now they key words here are "cult" and "based on" the bad guys are not supposed to be real Christians they are terrorists who think the world is ending. A group of people got onto this and decided to start their own fake news campaign against FC5. There are a ton of fake stories floating around about FC5 right now. Here are some examples; You'll play a Muslim out to kill Americans defending their homes, the enemies are all current POTUS supporters and you'll play a Liberal, and more and more garbage. If you've read these forget them it is all rubbish. Ubisoft has had to combat this on twitter and on reputable gaming sites. If your are thinking that Ubisoft should have stayed out of the USA while it is so divided right now I disagree. Politics start wars and wars have always been a part of gaming ever since earth was attacked by evil alien "Space Invaders." We have fought the Nazis in countless WW2 games, we have seen war games in Nam, & Russia. More current conflicts like Afghanistan, & Iraq. Thankfully fake wars with China and North Korea. There are games based on real political scenarios that happened in Japan during the Edo period. Then you have role playing games from both Japan and the west that take real politics and use them in fantasy backdrops to make their stories more realistic. Back to propaganda in gaming. Persona 5 has been called out for being anti god, there was a campaign to have it banned for it's negative views on religion. Here's the thing it really isn't. There are some spoilers about one of the main bad guys coming up. You've been warned! The bad thing who has been manipulating everything from behind the scenes is a fake god who is a physical manifestation of people desires and fears born into the other world that the heroes have been exploring. Now the word "Persona" comes from psychology Carl Jung said an individual projects to others, as differentiated from the authentic self." In the game the persona's are made out of demons and angels from every religion on Earth; from ancient Egyptian to Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, Christians, dead sea scrolls cults, and so on. Final Fantasy does something similar with their summons like Leviathan from the Bible and Shiva from Hinduism. Everything in the other world is fake it is a manifestation of the desires in a persons heart and that is why the heroes don't try to rescue the people in the prisons during the first quest because they don't exist. Some people ignored this and said that the game was about killing God with Lucifer. The God in the game is represented by a machine version of the holy grail and according to the Bible this is a false idol. Persona's in the game are not actual demons so we are not in fact killing god if you believe in what is in the Bible and if you don't believe in the Bible it doesn't matter because it is a game not prophecy. As for campaigns to outright ban games this is a tough issue. I've always been of the mind that if we are going to have a free society we can't be constantly censored like we are currently. This goes for every country Australia has had it with games, the US with what you can say on TV, UK and Japan has porn restrictions, China has an insane amount of it for everything that it has become like the book 1984. In other countries censorship of beliefs, or literature has started genocides. What has this got to do with gaming? Well banning a game because it goes against your religion or political beliefs is the start of the slippery slope. You might be happy that your leader is in but leaders change and the new one can then use the laws that the last one made to ban what you like. Freedom should of course have some restriction otherwise we will like in an anarchist state. Things like child porn you can definitely ban! But not a game that's views oppose your own. After saying that last part remember that some of what is being written about Far Cry 5 is rubbish & trying to get a game banned based on fake facts is a terrible trend that needs to be removed for both politics and gaming! Far Cry and Persona aren't the only ones, but I'll stick to them because I don't want this blog to take forever to write. One last thing before I stop. Do not reply about fake news outside of gaming (no politics outside of gaming, or Left Vs Right ether) I only want to talk about how propaganda has influenced games on my blog! Not just games:

I plan to buy and play Far Cry 5 regardless of this. Ubisoft just can't help themselves with infusing their politics into their games which if Watch Dogs 2 is any indication can be a bit eye rolling and aggravating as I don't play video games to be subjected to California or Canada's ideas about the federal government. UbisoftI usually thinks their being tongue and cheek or sneaky with their snark but it's just more of the usual our way or the highway ideology. That coupled with the counter culture crap in Watch Dogs 2 nearly made me quit playing. That said, people are overreacting if they think Far Cry 5 is about specifically attacking religious conservatives, albeit I don't put it past Ubisoft to take pot shots at those people.

Yeah.Spreading propaganda and outright lies to dissuade people from Far Cry 5 is childish. A cult based on Christianity is no different to how movies show the KKK.It's a real world issue. I doubt the developer of Persona 5 had any intention of making Persona 5 be anti-God,it's just like when Muslims complained about Little Big Planet is against Islam. People think if you don't follow my religion, you're a bad person.

www.ibtimes.co.uk/russia-funds-taliban-by-2-5m-month-anti-nato-operations-afghanistan-1643247Russia 'funds the Taliban by $2.5m a month for anti-NATO operations in Afghanistan'
Moscow has reportedly stepped ups its help for the group via laundered fuel sales.
Russia is funding the Taliban in Afghanistan by giving its chiefs multi-million dollar payments to counter operations by NATO, it has been reported.
The Times said that fuel tankers are sent into Afghanistan via the Uzbekistan border and are delivered to front companies working for the militants, with the sale of the fuel raising around $2.5m cash for the group.
A Taliban treasurer told the paper: "We sell the fuel on and distribute the money directly to our commanders. Accepting money from the Russians is not something we like doing, but it is necessary at this stage of our jihad."
"I just deal with the finances of a few Taliban commanders in one sector in one province. I transfer them the money and then account for its distribution. But there are many other people like me," he added.
The treasurer said the Russians started supplying them with fuel 18 months ago with the group getting it for free, but paying the import duty and keeping the profits. The fuel is sold via front companies to businessmen in Kabul.
This is the first time the Taliban has admitted publicly it gets Russian support although Moscow has been repeatedly accused by Washington of backing the insurgents.
A senior adviser to the Quetta Shura, the Taliban leadership in Pakistan told the Times that the Russians longer had any faith in the government in Kabul to stem the rise of Isis and wanted the Taliban to maintain its strength to fend the Islamists off.
"They have got three aims in dealing with us: defeat Islamic State, undermine the US-supported Afghan government and humiliate and hurt Nato," he said.
Nato has 13,000 troops inside Afghanistan, including around 500 Britons.

Something about LBP's quirky humor in relation to the Quran offended Muslims.I'm not sure how,but I do remember it LBP had it's release delayed,so they could edit the 'offensive parts' out of it. kotaku.com/5065845/lets-listen-to-that-controversial-lbp-songThe crescent moon on Links Shield in Ocarina of Time, and certain names of things in the game offended muslims. zelda.wikia.com/wiki/Controversy

Not surprising. Nice to hear some real news for once about who is funding terrorists. www.ibtimes.co.uk/russia-funds-taliban-by-2-5m-month-anti-nato-operations-afghanistan-1643247Russia 'funds the Taliban by $2.5m a month for anti-NATO operations in Afghanistan'

Iraqi forces clash with Kurds in operation to 'impose security' on KirkukYou can officially put me on the side of the Kurds. I've know Kurds and I've known Iraqis and the Kurds were MUCH nicer people. Not to mention they've stuck their neck out for the West for decades now and have gotten little in return except for gassing by Saddam. It's about time we stepped in and backed them up.
