Me beating Street Fighter 5 full mode, on hard difficulty, no continues with Ken. I'm starting to see the delicate blend of skill and strategy within Street Fighter 5's fighting mechanics. Playing on hard difficulty or against a human shows it's depth. You're killing me with all this SFV stuff. I can't find anyone willing to play other than the Choadlords of Online.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is certainly living up to my expectations. It's narrative is showing how people living in villages suffer, not just soldiers. PLOT SPOILERS food shortages and towns being occupied by foreign soldiers, being forced to supply the soldiers with materials , then the person being executed by his own people for doing so. It also shows soldiers from the same nation fighting over who gets the limited food resources. JRPGs are known for having eccentric plots, but Valkyria Chronicles 4 shows how a JRPG can show thedark complexities of war. I'm usually not into war stories, because war movies are usually biased and driven by agendas from the country that made them, but VC4 makes me empathize more with the victims of war , civilians, as well as soldiers.

Finally picked up Trails of Cold Steel. But I got it for Vita , as it's much cheaper than the PS4 version, and it looks like a PS3 game anyways. Dunno how this game slipped under my radar, as a JRPG fan, and with it being released quite a number of years ago.

I mentioned about Valkyria Chronicles 4 showing how civilians as well as solders suffer greatly during war. VC4 also makes me think about how the winter can have a big affect on the outcome of a war. As Napoleon and the Nazis invaded Russia but the brutal winter killed, immobilized and starved out many of the invading soldiers. To put it into perspective, the Soviets defeated the Nazis because they were better prepared for the winter, and the Soviets had already driven back the Nazis and preparing to invade Germany before D-Day.

Even though Valkyria Chronicles 4 has a great story, it's voice acting isn't convincing The female villains dress in Soviet style clothing, and try to act cold and calculating, yet they speak with American accents. I think a Russian accent would have been better.

IMO , Valkyria Chronicles 4 is more evidence that developers are better off not listening to fans too much. VC4 does enough to evolve the gameplay without moving too far away from the core of what made the first VC so great. Square Enix keep trying to revolutionize Final Fantasy but changing something very much isn't always good.

Finally beat Valkyria Chronicles 4. I got the normal ending, but will do the true ending and plat later. I got on A ranking on the final mission, but it still took me hours to get a certain trick to work.

Got the true ending for Valkyria Chronicles 4 ,which involves beating final boss on hard setup. I also got an A ranking. I'll grind away for the platinum. I already have the platinum for the first Valkyria Chronicles game.

I already have the platinum for the first Valkyria Chronicles game. Congrats, dude. I have got SO much to finish and play and now I'm chomping at the bit to replay VC and then do this one. If I could replay VC2 on my tv I probably would, even though it was SO unlike the original.

Got the gold trophy for getting an A ranking on all the missions (even the hard ones). It wasn't that hard, but unlocking many of the missions was a slow and repetitive task. Anyways, I have no more skill based trophies left, just weapon collecting and basic stuff.

Beat Yakuza 0. Another amazing game in the series. It makes me feel bad for Majima though. It shows before he became crazy and other surprising things about him past.

Although I beat Yakuza 0 last night, I'm still playing it a bit more to see more of what it's city has to offer. Some of the side quests have the typical Japanese naughtiness. Such as helping a woman learn to become a dominatrix(she sobs at first because she feels she isn't cut out to be one). As well as purchasing a copy of a sexy girls magazine for a young boy without people knowing, and finding out a girl is selling her bra and panties ,not selling sex , to put her boyfriend's mind at ease...

I've given Trails of Cold Steel a little bit of a try, although I plan to play 428 next, since I need a break from RPGs. ToCS has been interesting so far. It's battle system reminds me of Persona, where party members assist other party members , even when it's not their turn. In some ways it feels like a Falcom game, because of the music, and the way dialogue pops up quickly , but It's a bit more colorful than Ys,with a number of characters having blue hair and more visual novel elements. I look forward to learn more about the characters.
