It looks like it's time for me to invest in a 4K television.
But would it be a better idea to just save up for an 8K TV instead, considering 4K TVs are now cheaper than they have any right to be? Great incentive for deal hunters like me, but that also typically means new TVs are on the way, and 4Ks will be yesterday's news.
I'm very likely going to go for the PS5 (and possibly the new XBOX, too---not a guaranteed thing) so I want to be feature-ready and as up to date on trending tech as I can possibly get. I didn't adopt 4K when it first appeared due to obvious financial reasons, so I missed out on a LOT of stuff in 4K gaming and 4K movies.
Thoughts? 4k sooner? Or 8K later?

You’ll always be looking to the horizon if you don’t pick an entry point. Besides, 8K are years away from being viable to use for anything outside of a demo. Nobody streams it, the only way to game in 8K is with an Uber PC that’s going to set you back thousands, and nobody sells 8K media. That stuff is another 5-10 years before it will be proliferated to the reasonable marketplace and have anything worth buying on it.
