Sounds like a law written specifically to let people screw other people out of money for nothing. It's also potentially in contradiction to existing laws. I don't need permission to use someone's "art" for non-financial/non-promotional means when using it for satire, criticism, journalism, etc. That's called fair use. It would also be a bit difficult to go around claiming financial hardship over someone's use of material that you yourself didn't get copyrighted, trademarked, registered, or patented, particularly if the material was freely shared on the Internet in the first place.

Didn't Russia or the UK outlaw memes or some weird shit? Is that what this is about?

Didn't Russia or the UK outlaw memes or some weird shit? Is that what this is about? Russia didn't outlaw memes but Article 282 Criminal Code makes it a fineable offense to use social media to incite hatred or enmity, as well as abasement of dignity of a person or a group of persons on the basis of sex, race, nationality, language, origin, attitude to religion, as well as affiliation to any social group. The UK has something similar. Not related to memes specifically, but Canada has adopted some pretty draconian shit that similarly basically allows people to abuse the intent of the law for attempted financial gain under the guise of discrimination. Cases in point: Canadian Court Rules against Transgender Activist Jessica Yaniv in Fight with Beauticians over Waxing Male babysitter claims gender discrimination after Alberta father doesn't hire him MANDEL: Landlord loses bid to overturn human rights tribunal order Canada really needs to wake up and put an end to those "human rights" tribunals. Those are a complete farce.

I work 2-2 today and 6-2 tomorrow and then... I'm off? Til Tuesday?
I forgot I'd asked for these days.
They really couldn't come at a better time. I feel broken.

Got blocked by Jason Schrierer of Kotaku. Dunno what I did but I'll wear it as a badge of honor. He is notorious for doing that.

Krispy Kreme orders student to halt doughnut resale service The article calls this guy “enterprising.” Yeah sure, if you ignore the multiple federal, state, and local laws he’s violating. Plus he drove across state lines doing it so it makes it magnitudes worse. He’s lucky all he’s getting served with is a cease and desist. I somehow doubt he had appropriate permits to operate as a food vendor/distributor too. Then there’s the matter of whether or not he would have reported his income on his below board “delivery” service.
