Here,we can talk about things such as ghost stories, alien abductions, demons etc. Supernatural/Paranormal is more to do with stuff science can't/or is yet to prove.
First I'd like to start off with the differences in ghosts between different cultures.
Asian ghosts tend to have a morbid/grotesque appearance, and often give their victim a horrifying stare, and Asians describe ghosts as being confrontational in the sense the ghost will actually come up to a person who is in bed and stare at the person and cause the person to become paralysed(scientists say this could be sleep paralysis caused by people whom are unable to tell the difference between dream and reality and the paralysis is caused by their muscles being paralysed which happens when people are dreaming, which is a human body's natural way to prevent people from hurting themselves when they're dreaming).
South East Asians often believe in a ghost that is a flying head of a dead person, another grotesque ghost that gives a horrifying facial expression.
Western ghosts are often described as being more like spirits, they don't look grotesque, and are often described as looking like a normal person who just appears and then disappears. Western ghosts are sometimes linked with so-called spirit orbs that allow a spirit to interact with the world, and will sometimes communicate with the living. I know there is cases of poltergeists, which are the more ''aggressive '' ghosts that like to move and destroy objects in western culture, but they're supposed to be rare.and IMO not as confrontational as Asian ghosts since Asian ghosts will physically appear right in front of you, where as western ghosts seem to hide, even poltergeists seem reluctant to show their physical form...
However, western horror movies portray ghosts as being confrontational and grotesque and more like monsters/demons,even though a huge majority of ghost encounters from westerners describe the ghosts as being timid and looking like a real person.
