Most of that is marginal, at best. SSD? I already have one of those in my PS4. VR? Gimmick, soon to go the way of 3D. The real advance and the reason to buy it is the backwards compatibility. I think you’re mistaken about the VR. The amount of industry investment into the product signals it’s not going to just go away this time. I was a skeptic at first but having demoed it and now owning it I can say it provides a whole extra experience. I need to play mine more. Well, no offense here Dorbs, but you bought into VR. I think that has an effect on your perception. I've no doubt its cool as shit but so is 3D. Personally I love shit in 3D and I think it's a fantastic boon to movie and gaming experiences, but ultimately 3D is a gimmick owing largely to the fact that the general public doesn't like wearing the glasses and some of the negative effects like headaches that it causes in some people. VR has large headsets that effectively blind you to your actual environment. Some are sweaty to use and a good percentage of the population get nauseated using it. Not to mention the accidents that can occur while wearing a headset that restricts your vision and situational awareness. If 3D never gained widespread adoption then there is no way VR will.

Virtual reality market size in 2018 with forecast for 2019 I'd say it's taking a fair slice of market share as it is and I don't see companies backing off of pushing it as a viable product. With enhancements in the hardware it's only going to get cheaper and easier to use too, which will only push it's availability and broader market appeal.

TV, theaters... sorry brother. I just don't see it sticking any better.

Yeah, sure it's a gimmick but it's a gimmick that actually does what it advertises and really enhances the experience. It's not for every game obviously. I wouldn't want it for every game. But there are some games that really just get taken to the next level with VR. Time will tell obviously. I think this next gen will honestly be the make or break. So far I see all the major players really putting the backing into that its going to need to be successful.

I want BC, obviously, but the way I see it they'll launch the PS5, then the PS5 Pro, then maybe the PS5 Enhanced...
