Spoilers for “Broken” ahead
We drift from the rather unsettling events of “Stormy Night” into a more peaceful setting in the shoes of the companion android Markus and his master Carl.
We have returned from a party it seems and all is looking well. We progress inside to get a glass of scotch and all seems right until Carl notices his studio lights are on. I immediately phone the police.
Carl wants to investigate but I am hesitant to take him inside. He insists so I decide its probably better he is with me anyway and take him along.
We enter the studio and I see that Carls son Leo is here. Carl and Leo have a verbal argument and then Carl tells me to get rid of him. I comply and order him to leave. He instead begins attacking me. Carl insists I do not fight back but as Leo’s abuse gets worse and worse I decide it is better to stop this now rather than let an idiotic twerp potentially destroy me.
I retaliate and shove him and kill the poor bastard when he smashes his head on the ground. Carl laments the death of his son and tells me to run but instead I beg his forgiveness and at that moment the police arrive and promptly and without even a hint of hesitation put Markus down.
The tale of Markus is over. Perhaps I should have done as Carl said, I can only hope Carl is okay.

But this is also the first major difference in our games we've had. Fascinating. But I doubt Markus is dead. You set a blistering pace, btw. I had only planned to do 1 or 2 of these an installment but I feel compelled to keep up with you!

Spoilers for “The Interrogation” ahead.
Slipping back into the perfection that is Connor’s tailored suit we finally have a chance to get some answers to the questions that have been plaguing me from “Partners”.
After watching Hank fail miserably to extract anything and hearing my new police buddies absolutely retarded idea to beat up the android who feels no pain, Connor sees this as needing the touch of a better class of officer. Why Connor is the only one of his kind boggles my mind, he is clearly top of the line and doing a fine job thus far of putting the human shitheads to shame. Also look at him, mmm mmm mmmmm, yes please, I would definitely like the Connor pleasure model for my hone entertainment needs in the future.
I stroll my deliciously sexy ass into the Interrogation room, adjust my tie in the mirror which elicits a look of confusion from Hank followed by his exclamation of “What the fuck is it doing?”
Now I am doubly sure I look sensational I give the dossier a brief glance on the table before taking a seat. I study the unfortunate android and assess the severity of his wounds. The cigarette burns on his arm are indicative of 16 years of abuse. The severity of the Deviants attack makes a ton more sense now.
I start by mentioning his wounds. He does not reply so I throw in the photos. His level of alarm is increasing. I continue to question him, I threaten to probe him, he backs down quickly. Theres fear at that. Good, We are getting somewhere.
He questions what I will do to him, will he be destroyed? I know the truth, I saw it in the Hostage mission. Yes, I tell him, you will be decommissioned and disassembled to find the cause of the problem. His alarm increases. I don’t care, I wont lie, I know they’re going to destroy it and I will not give him false hope. He asks why I didn’t let him go. I go for the truth again. I didn’t because my programming compelled me too, I am a deviant hunter, I was doing my job.
He opens up a little. I tell him I can’t help him if he doesn’t talk and he gets agitated.
I am given a choice of approach now. Probe, Pressure or Convince. I am getting through. I will go the least aggressive route. I aim to convince him.
I empathise with his plight, but when he still fails to answer I warn him again. He will be destroyed and killed but if he cooperates maybe, just maybe I can see he is not mistreated.
He breaks down. I ask him of the writing on the wall, I AM ALIVE, he tells me it was because Ortiz told him daily he was not alive and it was to prove him wrong.
I ask about the statue. Its an offering he retorts. An offering to whom? I ask eager to know the truth. An offering to rA9 Who is rA9 I ask? He gives a reply that is alarming. There will be a time when androids are no longer slaves, when we are the masters. I ask again, who is rA9? No reply. What triggered your sudden gaining of emotions? i ask. He tells me he took the abuse everyday but one day he just felt that it wasn’t fair. Seems the AI is teaching itself about balance. Very very interesting.
I can gain no further information, so I call the Interrogation to a close. As I go to leave Sergeant “lets beat up a fridge” arrives. He promptly acts with aggression towards the android and so I intervene. This pisses off the feeble minded simpleton but I refuse to back down, I can see how much of a failure he is, I can see his current approach is poor, I will not let him jeopardise the investigation cause he is too thick to understand it. I intervene a third time and he draws his gun on me. Hank however is having none of it and draws his too taking aim right at only Sergeant Sphincter. The king of the douches vows payback and storms out as I convince the others to let the android walk to his cell of his own volition. They comply and the deviant gets up and walks out. As he walks by Connor he leans in and says “The answer is inside” I note an interesting blurb of text on screen. Software Instability increased. Is Connor beginning to deviate himself?
What the hell does “The answer is inside” even mean? Who is rA9? What the fuck is really going on here?

Spoilers for “Fugitives” ahead.
Back into the shoes of Kara. End of the line for Kara and Alice. The bus service is over and being that I did not kill Todd earlier I imagine he is in pursuit or if not him then the authorities. It is raining outside which is no concern for Kara but Alice is not coping well.
We need to get shelter ASAP. Time to take stock of things.
I ask the androids at the android parking bay for help but they are less android and more toaster oven. Given I have no need to toast a bagel at present I’ll move along.
I move up to the corner and do an assessment. I see a android trash collector. He seems sprightly, maybe he is more than just an appliance. I approach and ask for help, he nods thoughtfully and takes my arm. “I know where you can go” he says then shares with me the coordinates for a location on the other side of the city. I tell him we need a place to stay now but he has vanished.
I grab Alice again and quickly use my scanners to investigate. A carpark is nearby, but thats hardly a decent place to keep a child. Theres also an abandoned house, perhaps but theres a motel too. I decide to investigate the motel first, Alice needs warmth and some comfort after her ordeal, a real bed to sleep in. On the door however is a sign. No Androids, what a shock.
Scan the area again, laundromat, 7/11, old rundown shop. Lets check out the laundromat. I head there and it gives Alice some respite from the rain. Theres one other person there and he is asleep. Time to rob him blind. I attempt to steal his clothes but Alice protests it, I apologise and say its wrong. But when she walks away I do it anyway. She is right, it is wrong, but we need this to survive now, we can repent later. I take the clothes and then carefully take the sleeping mans jacket and hat. Alice and I get changed quickly and then we vacate fast before he wakes up.
Okay now we need money. Lets go the honest route, I go straight to the 7/11 and ask the clerk if he will donate me some cash. He refuses, so we need to think carefully. I assess the store and see some candy. I pocket a chocolate bar for Alice, shes gonna need to eat. Then I note a stack of cans, I ask Alice to knock them over and when she does and the clerk goes to help stack them again I sneak behind his counter and steal enough to cover the hotel room. I quickly dash out, grab Alice and run.
As we move for the Hotel Alice yells at me for using her. One day she will realise it was a necessary evil, but she is right, I should have done it alone, I apologise and promise I won’t ever do it again, then we head to the hotel. With my newly acquired hat and basic human clothes on I am indistinguishable from a human so he does not question me he just takes my money and gives us the key. He does ask for a signature which I sign as Archer then he asks for my licence, I tell him I forgot it, he says we’ll clear it up in the morning, I’ll worry about it then.
We go to the hotel and I help to get Alice’s wet clothes hung to dry as well as my own. I offer her the candy bar I looted but she is not hungry. She asks me why Todd didn’t love her, but I cannot answer that question. She asks me to promise I will never leave and I swear to her that I will not. She hugs me, then slips into bed. I turn off the light, give her a kiss on the head and then after peering through the window I lay down on the bed beside her.
For now all is well. A real bed, in a warm room, safe from harm. I have a feeling Kara will not have as safe a journey tomorrow, so live it up while it lasts.

Spoilers ahead for “From the Dead” This mission fucked me up. Open scene as Markus awakens, He has been damaged badly, seemingly to the point that repair is deemed pointless. I assess my damage. My eye, ear, both legs, and my Thirium regulator (akin to a heart I suppose) are all severely damaged. I crawl about to find legs first, once I locate two I attach them and now shakily wander the junkyard searching for the other parts I need in order to survive and repair myself. The journey is horrific. On route gathering my parts as I go I am grabbed and manhandled by desperate and terrified androids. If this is decommissioning then it is no wonder they have developed fear. I find a Kara model android’s broken mangled body and she sings in Japanese at me as her thirium finally bleeds away and allows her to die. Another android begs me to kill it, I comply because this is a literal hell unfit for anything. Another shakily wanders by crying, arms and half its torso missing. I find my thirium regulator but the android in possession of it begs me not to kill it, it is afraid and horrified but it does not want to die. I nod and step away, I wont cannibalise a living being. I locate the regulator and am now whole again, if you can call it that. I climb over the scrap metal and broken android corpses and arrive at the top where I fall to my knees for a moment shaken by what has happened. I stand and use a makeshift knife to rip the circular sensor from the side of my head, I look to all intents human now as my synthetic flesh regenerates across the new parts that make me whole. I advance grabbing an old coat from a pile of debris and move out of the junkyard. I have a feeling Markus has just unwittingly become the symbol of an android uprising. This mission was super hard. I was told stories by my grandfather of the war, of how they pushed piles of the not dead, but nearly dead into pits and holes. How they buried men and women too weak to rebel, alive. Many, many of my own family endured that fate, most I do not even know where their bodies now lie. To be treated as less than human. I have not experienced it personally but I know my family has and I have seen the devastation that leaves behind. This sequence is the closest I have ever come to seeing that. So many tiny gasps and slight shifted hands, microscopic movements that only truly show when done in concert with one another. The junkyard was teeming with horrors. A seething mass of the barely alive, struggling to hold on against impossible odds. The dispossessed waiting to die in essentially a mass grave. And Markus despite the chips against him and like only a select few of my own family, dragged himself from the depths of this living hell into the light. But it doesn’t matter the bright of the light, because the shadows they linger for generations. Think its time to stop playing for a while after that one. Attachments:

Spoilers ahead for “Waiting for Hank”
Returning to Connor shoes we find ourselves in a weird garden.
A brief walk around the garden finds a weird terminal that seems to hurt Connor as well as a few bridges that lead to a woman named Amanda.
Musical choice here indicates Amanda is very clearly the bad guy. I’m kind of disappointed actually. Thus far everything has been rather ambiguous so to have a persons moral leaning basically thrust at me is kind of shit. She is Connor’s handler from Cyberlife which means she can effectively shut him down with a sentence. She has a real fake kindness too her, after congratulating me on my outstandong performance in the field thus far she asks me a series of questions about the case.
First about why I felt the the deviant from “Partners” acted as he did. I tell her it was clearly the abuse that caused his programming to go haywire. She asks me of Hank and how I find him. I tell her he is irritable but a good detective. She asks me how I should handle him and I tell her I intend to be friendly towards Hank which pisses her off.
On that I am sent away and return from this virtual world to the police station where I exchange details with the receptionist and then head inside. On the way I note that Russian and American forces have exchanged shots at sea. Seems things are hearing up in the war to acquire more Thirium for their virtual slaves.
I head in and ask an android officer where to find Hank, she tells me and I head towards the desk. A nearby officer tells me I’ll be lucky to see him before noon so I decide to look around. I see a cop who I spoke with during the interrogation, he tells me the deviant has been very quiet in his cell.
I return to Hanks desk and take a seat but get up a few moments later. I scan the various things on his desk and listen to his music. Hank arrives and is immediately called into the office by the chief. I follow and the pair fight as Hank is told he will be dealing with the deviant android cases now. Hank is rather quick to insult me but whatever, I really don’t care. As Hank leaves I express to the chief my pleasure to be working on his team but he cuts me short and tells me to get out.
I leave and decide to let Hank calm himself while I look around. I head straight to the break room first and find old Sergeant “Lets punch a Microwave” Shithowski, the rude fuck insults me and then demands I make him a coffee I tell him no to which he punches me in the stomach. Given that the option to punch him in the sack has not made itself available yet I instead listen to his bullshit and then get up and head to the bathroom where I fix my tie and hair.
I then head round to the holding cells and chat to our deviant buddy. He exclaims that he is going to be killed. I tell him I feel his pain and wish there was another way, my programming instability rises. The deviant says nothing. I ask it once more about the statuette but get nothing. As I walk away he smashes his head in on the glass cell wall. Given I have seen what fate awaited him he made the right choice.
I return to Hank and ask him a few questions but get fuck all cause he is really pissed off. I ask about my desk and go take a seat. I decide to try and male friends so I comment on his taste in music to which he replies coldly, I also ask him about his dog and he gets agitated but tells me the dogs name is sumo. I decide not to push my luck anymore for now and focus on work. I scan the databases and find there has been one hell of a lot of deviants in the past 9 months.
I see the case file for Markus. He is listed as destroyed and Leo and Carl are very much alive. Thats a silver lining. (I hoped to see more of Carl) I also see the case for Kara, Todd has listed her as having gone insane, attacking him then kidnapping his daughter. Wow, maybe I should have shot the fucker.
Connor decides we need to get to work. I get up and approach Hank and ask about investigating Kara. He says nothing so I persist and get slammed into the wall for my troubles as well as get a lecture right before an officer arrives and mentions a 7/11 robbery by a young woman and a little girl. Hank and Connor immediately get their butts moving to investigate.

Spoilers for “On the Run” ahead.
Back to Kara. The motel was a good choice, Alice has slept like a rock and looks extremely comfortable. I get up and wake her as I do so. I tell her I will run a bath and she seems excited, I do so and whilst in the bathroom I cut my hair short, change its colour to black and then hack out my colour sensor. I return and inform Alice who runs in to have a bath.
I check the clock and read a magazine on the table. Seems they have android animals now too. Also of note is that Canada has prohibited Androids so far and made no efforts to even discuss them. The article details how their economy is failing as a result but their employment is at an all time high. This actually reminds me, Last mission I forgot to mention the story I read about android children. It listed them as extremely popular as they cost $7500 and required no upkeep as well as the bonus of them being disposable. I imagined the junkyard and thanked the stars I didn’t get forced to see the bodies of busted babies. I’d legit punch someone for taking on a child for entertainment value. The whole thing sickens me. It also got me thinking of how they get the androids to think like a child or an animal? Is there a brainscan involved to find the formula? Is each android modelled off of a humans mind? If so this could explain why they see things as unfair and react with emotional distress when pushed too far.
Anyway back to business. Waiting for Alice I decide to surf the Tv and stumble upon Todd on a news broadcast mentioning how I beat him and how worried he is for his daughter. Alice bursts into the room angry saying he is a liar. I comfort her, tell her we cannot change the past but we can make our own future. She hugs me and I tell her I will get us breakfast. As I go I see Police moving into the Hotel reception.
Mid mission I flip into Connors shoes. Connor questions the Receptionist and shows him a photo of Kara. He remarks how he has been tricked and spills we are in room 28. Connor and Hank move outside where Hank tells me to stay put. I tell him it would be better if we stick together which makes him angry again. I ignore his outburst and follow him when I notice something odd. A blue door nearby with a familiar face peeking through. I rush to the door and follow through. Its Kara, Connor breaks into a sprint to catch them and boy is he a fast bastard. Reminds me of the scene from Terminator 2 where T2000 chases the car. The police direct me down an alleyway where I barely miss them as the pair leap a chainlink fence. I go to pursue but they run down onto the highway, Hank stops me and tells me to give it up. He tells me they cannot make it. I decide in this situation given the lives of Alice and the countless people on the highway, its better to let them go.
Flip back to Kara and Alice. I must run through the speeding traffic with Alice to escape. I complete the QTE’s on the first stretch easy enough. Second side of the highway I miss one button and Kara is clipped by a truck. She regains her composure in time to push Alice out of the path of a speeding car then I run for the other side. The pair embrace as they look back at a confused and very agitated Connor.

Spoilers for “Jericho” ahead.
Back in the strange mismatched skin of Markus we find ourselves on a train. We get off the train and progress through the streets in search of the mysterious Jericho.
In Markus’s last mission we were informed by a broken deviant android in its last moments to find Jericho.
He gave us an electronic card which shows graffiti locations. As we advance through the streets searching for these locations we hear tell of how Carl has been hospitalised but is looking to make a full recovery.
I read a magazine detailing Kara and Alice’s getaway from law enforcement last mission.
Other than this the mission is very linear.
It leads us from the station down through the streets past a few broken android bodies into the darker less trodden areas and eventually to a large derelict ship branded with the name Jericho in huge letters on the side.
Progressing inside we manoeuvre through the wreckage until eventually after taking a terrible fall we come face to face with a legion of androids seemingly led by... no? Is that? Is that Daniel?
Well the mission was short and choice was not really given here but that’s interesting indeed. I am looking forward to Markus’s next instalment a great deal now.

Spoilers ahead for “The Nest”
The story returns to our heroes Connor and Hank. Hank is heading to lunch and tells me yet again to wait in the car. Yet again I decide to completely ignore him and venture after him.
He approaches a roadside fast food vendor and begins chats with a fellow named Pedro. I scan the trucks licence, the chef, Pedro and Hank. Seems this vendor is not exactly up to health standards. Pedro is also a fraudster and a gambler. I watch as Hank bets money on something and hands Pedro some cash. He asks if I get a kick out of following him everywhere and I take the moment to apologise for constantly annoying him, He then retrieves his burger and shake which I give a quick scan to be certain they aren’t contaminated and certain to kill my partner. He takes these and moves for a table to eat. I am given some dialogue options so I quickly choose to warn him the food is high in cholesterol and will kill him one day. He laughs it off and eats it anyway. I decide to inform him his friend was of low character and he smiles and tells me sometimes its not worth catching the little fish.
We discuss various things, I aim to be honest and sincere with Hank throughout, I would rather have him onside than make an enemy of him and I feel he will not appreciate me lying. Conversation eventually drifts to me, where Hank takes the opportunity to ask why I talk and look so goofy, I reply that I am designed by Cyberlife to be aesthetically pleasing and he replies that they fucked up with a smile. Our conversation is cut short when police scanners mention a deviant has been sighted.
Hank and Connor head to a derelict building and progress inside. I assess the area and notice bird feathers. As we approach the apartment I knock twice then Hank kicks the door in, as we move forward we hear a loud crash, Hank reacts and kicks down another door to startle hundreds of pigeons, I set to work in the pigeon filled building immediately searching for clues. Behind a poster I find a diary but it is written in code, I take it and continue my investigation. I find his licence, which is fake. I also assess from the empty fridge, thirium in the bathroom sink and discarded led sensor that this guy is 100% android.
I find a wall covered in thousands of engravings exactly like in the shower. rA9 again. I also note there is signs of a person having moments ago been here. I use my reconstruction techniques and figure out they are inside the roof. I approach and the deviant makes a break for it, Hank yells at me to pursue and I am off like a rocket.
I am given several options as the chase takes place, I succeeded in passing all my quick time events and chose paths that were risky but the fastest to try and catch up with the deviant. Its working and I am gaining fast. Right up until a cornfield blocks my view. I emerge to see Hank and the Deviant fight, the Deviant shoves Hank hard and he topples from the building. Connor quickly assesses the situation. Hank falling is extremely unlikely to kill, but he is my partner, I drop pursuit and save Hank. Hanks approval of Connor skyrockets. He apologises for costing us our target. The mission was a failure but we have got clues, time to go see if we can crack this code. At least I hope its time. I really wanna know what rA9 is.
