I can say Tales of Hearts R is the most fun JRPG I've played in years. It's story keeps getting better and better, and it's original. It's hard to explain what makes it's story original without giving away spoilers, but i'll say it uses concepts including fantasy,Sci Fi,a story that takes place over thousands of years in a creative way. Nothing has felt cliche, unlike what we see in other JRPGs when they bring time travel or parallel worlds into the story when they run out of ideas. A good story still needs likable characters, and Tales of Hearts has just that. It has romance, and most importantly the romance has chemistry, because you see the guy and girl's feelings for each other develop over time, and a series of funny and heartwarming interactions between them. What I like about Tales of Hearts is it tries to be a JRPG. Not a WRPG/JRPG hybrid which Final Fantasy has become. As I mentioned in a previous blog, I like how it's towns are shown from not too up close to you, so you can see a big part of the town, and the towns have charming, peaceful music. The game still presents a unique culture within it's world, because the people in the world worship a whale God, hence many of the towns are built next to the sea, or over bodies of water, and it gives the towns a relaxing atmosphere. The game also has you near the seaside and travelling on ships frequently, so you can feel the aquatic theme the game is trying to give, which I like. Since the western release of this game only came to Vita, this game was never going to get much commercial exposure, which is a shame, because I think this game is much better than the more well known Tales. In fact. Hearts is my 2nd favorite Tales game so far ,only behind Tales of Symphonia Dawn of A New World, and that could change depending on how Hearts ends. I've played most of Tales games including Abyss,Vesperia,Symphonia 1 and 2, Graces ,Xillia and Zestiria, and I can say Hearts has the freshest and most original story out of all of these games. Sounds interesting. I'll keep an eye on this one for Vita.

Beat Tales of Hearts. The story turned out to be epic, with a fresh feel, and has a love story with chemistry. It's my favorite Tales game.

I've decided to give Hitman Go a try, since it's dirt cheap. The game feels like a mathematical puzzle, rather than a true strategy game. By this I mean other strategy games allow a fair degree of variation of how you apply strategy , or take advantage of algorithms. Where as Hitman Go has very linear solutions to it's puzzles. Can't say I'm enjoying it, but at least the controls are smooth, and the music is nice.

Especially for a series that butters its bread with a variety of ways to off a target.

I've decided to give Murdered Soul Suspect a try, because I've heard good things about it's story, despite the negative things I've heard about it's gameplay. I like noir style stories, and it's story sounds like it has some emotional aspects, especially since the guy is trying to be with his wife again.

Started Murdered Soul Suspect. It's story is engaging, although the gameplay is shallow. I really care about the character, and I like how it shows his determination to be with his wife again, and the game makes me think about my own mortality, and has interesting viewpoints on what life after death could be like. The way ghosts from various time periods are trapped together in the world, and interacting with the world in their own unique way makes this experience feel unique. The gameplay feels like a watered down version of Heavy Rain's gameplay. Since I love story-driven games, and I can enjoy visual novels which have no gameplay at all, I see myself enjoying this experience.

More impressions of Murdered Soul Suspect are it's story is great thus far, but it's gameplay feels clunky. Clunky realistic movements work in Heavy Rain, because it's QTEs are done well, but in MSS, the enemies move fast, and you'll be trying to pull off a QTE while multiple fast demons are around , and it becomes frustrating. The side stories are interesting, I especially like the mind reading and possess mechanic, it makes seemingly uninteresting NPCs become characters with interesting backstories and personality.

Damn. When I try to play MSS, my PS3 keeps resetting itself. I've had a lot of issues lately trying to play digital games on my PS3. It reset itself constantly when I tried to play Sly 2, and it freezes when I try to install Game of Thrones, and had a weird glitch where new planets wouldn't unlock on Ratchet Nexus. This is a final sign that I should rest the old girl, had her since 2008, but many games I've tried to play lately cannot function properly.
Such as shame, as I was enjoying MSS, and progressed a fair way through the game before this issue.
Anyways, back to gaming on Vita I suppose.
