My progress so far in Ni No Kuni 2. Between mid-chapter 5 and the beginning of chapter 6. This has been my favorite part of the game by far. I like the game as much as I get annoyed by it.

I need to recruit more people to join my kingdom, so I can upgrade my castle and build a shipyard. The way to recruit people is doing side quests for them. Some side quests involving lots of backtracking and dull tasks. But this has been my favorite side quest so far, because of the nice tropical scenery, and at times sailing the ocean felt like I was playing Wind Waker. Although it requires some painstaking backtracking to the Abyss once again.

This is me exploring the futuristic city named Broadleaf , which has multiple city levels and people complaining about the poor conditions and opposing a dictatorship that exploits the populace to advance it's technology? Remind you of Midgar?
Anyways, it has a nice atmosphere, and the Ghibli art designs go well with the concept.
It seems the parts of Ni No Kuni 2 that make it worth playing come after 15-20 hours into the game. Such as the underwater Abyss and Broadleaf.

Live I've said, the parts of Ni No Kuni 2 worth experiencing are in after the 15-20 hour mark of the game. The town in Ding Dong Dell is very charming, but it would have been nice if more charming towns were earlier on in the game.

Despite me being in the final chapter of Ni No Kuni 2. I don't feel like coming back to it for a while. It's RTS segments, and gathering NPCs to build a kingdom have made me lose interest. I've moved onto Trails of Cold Steel, and just by it's style and design, I feel like it's going to be something memorable. It feels like Persona meets Suikoden , with a mix of steam punk/ Sci Fi . Just like in Persona, it lets you build relationships /romances , but you need to manage your free time.

I'm really liking Trails of Cold Steel. It has a nice style to it. It tries give us what many many love about JRPGs, such as relaxing towns to visit, it has enough charm and eccentric plot elements , and a lot of depth to it's turn-based battle system.

Trails of Cold Steel certainly is a lovely game. I think it not having a big budget is a blessing in disguise, a lot of effort have been put into making the characters likable, and I love the rural atmospheres. Like people say, it's has similarities to Persona, however, so far the game makes you go on field trips (quests) and gives you the occasional free day to socialize with the other characters and learn about them. Where as Persona gave you a bit more freedom in how you wanted to spend your time. The characters are not generic, they are interesting and unique in their own way. They have interesting/surprising pasts ,hobbies and outlook on things . Just like with Persona , it can be a tough choose which girl you want to spend your limited time with

Still progressing through Trails of Cold Steel , slowly, when my wife is asleep . Once my son goes back to school, and after my house is built. I hope to have more free time.

I love the Nord Highlands in Trails of Cold Steel. Beautiful plains, mountains and sunsets over the horizon. Some of the most beautiful environments don't require a big budget.

The scene of the Mongolian style village in Trails of Cold Steel, with the sunset in the background is stunning. Since I'm playing on Vita, I can only show screenshots, not videos.

No matter how many times I see the opening scene for #FinalFantasyVIII , it always looks stunning , beautiful and poetic.
Loving playing FF8 again. The cleaner visuals in the Remaster are a nice touch . Balamb Garden is gorgeous, and I love the towns in the world.
