Thought we could use a thread to discuss specifically comic book and pop culture related subjects. Comics, anime, cosplay...

Okay so a black Superman... sure fine whatever, but... Obama as Superman: Action Comics #9 and Alex Ross WTF?!?! So he's based on Obama. Why? You want to have black Superman (which I'm honestly NOT cool with because create your own new damn heroes instead of co-opting existing properties) why base him on Obama? Just because he's the only black guy white writers know aside from MLK Jr?

I have no idea what any of this is. It looks like comic book cosplay.

Thought I would post this because I've been playing Bioshock lately and the cosplay level is pretty high... albeit this photo is weirdly sexual.

Seriously NOT into clowns but there is something strangely erotic about this Harley Quinn cosplay.

If you ever wondered what Wendy would be like as a serial killer... I imagine something like this. Not sure whether to take points off for using McDonalds food as a prop or believe this is clever use of competing product to show fast food dominance.

This is really just for Katzie and me but: After a half a year hiatus, the Berserk manga is returning to publication. According to Mantan Web, the latest instalment will run in the January issue of Young Animal, which goes on sale December 22 in Japan. Berserk debuted in 1989 and stars a revenge-hungry swordsman named Guts. The manga has spawned anime and video games. Manga artist Kentaro Miura is infamous for taking time off from Berserk. Earlier this year, Miura returned in March from hiatus that began in September 2016. That was after Berserk had returned June of that year from yet another hiatus. The latest break began this June. But at that time, Berserk was announced for a winter return. You can catch up on this uber-violent, somewhat pornographic supermanga here.

About damn time, but honestly I don't imagine him getting much more done. I've come to accept that it'll never get finished.
Besides, you know why Miura keeps taking breaks? Because of Idolmaster. Apparently the dude's a huge fan of it, which is really weird when you consider what goes on in Berserk.

I have a lot of Disney comics and I still read them from times to times. The stories, drawing style and inks are mostly from the Italian School (Scarpa, Gatto, Cavazzano etc) and the older stories are from the hand of Carl Barks himself. With the new century, one by one the old artists died and I don't like the new style anymore. But it was good while it lasted. Attachments:
