Why Joshua Brown's testimony was key in Amber Guyger's murder trial More stupidity from social media surrounding the Amber Guyger trial. So now the neighbor who testified in the trial against Guyger ends up dead in a completely unrelated incident and the conspiracy nuts are saying it was a hit from the white supremacist cops of the Dallas PD. Except there aren't really any facts to support that theory and plenty of signs to indicate the guy was likely killed for completely unrelated reasons. "In an interview with "Today," a lawyer who represented Jean's family and is now working with Brown’s relatives, said Sunday that Brown’s role in the trial caused him to fear “for his life.” The lawyer, S. Lee Merritt, attributed that fear, in part, to a shooting that occurred in recent months during a birthday party at a Dallas club that Brown attended. Brown was shot in the foot, Merritt said, and a friend of his was killed. It wasn’t clear what caused the incident, but Merritt said Brown knew the shooter and worried the person “might come back to try and finish the job.” Translation: Pretty clear that the neighbor was already in the middle of some shady shit of his own (whether of his own doing or not) that may well have caught up to him. Guyger has already been convicted. Killing the dude now would serve no purpose as far as helping her."Brown’s relatives told Merritt that he worried about how the trial’s publicity could leave him more exposed to "people who wished him harm," and how he could be viewed as a “snitch” for cooperating with law enforcement in Guyger’s prosecution. Brown heard such pushback in the days after the trial, Merritt said. Merritt said he had no evidence to suggest Brown’s death was in retaliation for his testimony, but he added, “it is certainly worth investigating or looking into and we expect the city of Dallas to apply all of its resources and manpower to figure out what happened."Translation: We are preparing our lawsuit against the city of Dallas because one way or the other my clients are getting paid.

I've been really resisting this rabbit hole. The last blurb I read said that Guyger and Jean were fucking and that might have played a role. I've lost any desire to get to the bottom of this.

Guyger didn't even know Jean. She was sleeping with another police officer who was married. Honestly, why not both? Why not more? Cops are given to risky behaviors like this. Take it from me.

There's been no evidence presented in this case to show that the victim and Guyger had any connection prior to the shooting. As for the neighbor who's now dead, there is evidence to suggest that he was either into some shady shit himself or that he hung with people who were and got caught up in the middle of it. He was shot in the foot a year ago in a shooting at a club in which a friend of his that he was sitting next to was killed. He stated that he knew the identity of the shooter. He just got through being involved in testifying in a high profile case that ended in a murder conviction in which he stated to his lawyer and law enforcement that he feared testifying would put his life in danger with people he was concerned were already looking to kill him. Not a stretch at all to believe that the killer whose identity he knew decided to come and take care of the loose end snitch before he had a chance to rat on him. I'd say that's more likely than a cop orchestrated revenge killing for Guyger's conviction.

She was thrown to the dogs. No one is taking revenge for her, that's just silly

Police identify 3 suspects linked to slain witness Joshua Brown Called it. Dude was into shady shit and it got him killed. Of course the conspiracy nut anarchist cop haters will still contest that this was all a hit by the DPD as a revenge killing for his testimony in Guyger’s trial. Never mind that doesn’t help her at all and he had previously asserted to law enforcement and his lawyer that he was concerned about being killed by people in retaliation for an unrelated incident.

I'm so confused. Who are her people? I mean, really, who? Can't be black people. Black people gain a shitton from the NFL. The NFL probably makes more black millionaires than any other corporation/career in existence. Their only real competition is the NBA.

So... is he actually in for a haircut, or what? It's a bar in New Orleans. That's the "shot chair" where you can pay 12 bucks to be mistreated in an attempt to make you vomit. Wheeeeeeeeee fun.

People are weird. Why would I pay someone to try and make me vomit? Not sure how getting forced into a motorboat is supposed to make me vomit either. I mean not from that otherwise attractive woman at least.
