And here we have a place to discuss current events that are not intrinsically political in nature.

And here we see the basis of most BS research: "based on "conjecture" and "supposition" rather than "proof"." Many a professor starts their research with a supposed idea and tailoring their research to make it true rather than uncovering the reality of a thing which invalidates whatever they're doing. You can have a general idea and go for proof of concept but this sounds like another person trying to make A equal Z without going through all the letters in between to prove it because it suits their agenda and narrative they want to build, either to get more grant money or to make some socio-political point.

Yeah I read this one yesterday. She makes some valid points. She makes some stupid points. Hollywood and their like minded types jumped her regardless for having an opinion. She's not wrong in that the "victims" often share some type of blame for putting themselves into these situations. I've said that all along. It doesn't excuse or apologize for the behavior of the aggressor that victimized them by pointing out that people should examine their own behavior to see what may have put them into the situation that allowed them to be victimized and taking action to avoid becoming a victim again in the future.

Honestly a lot of this in Hollywood is seen as the 'price' to be a star. That has been pretty much eternal. Many young actresses are well aware of this going in but seem more than happy to hop on the bandwagon (instead of rich Jewish cock) since this is the hot item. Weinstein is sleaze, no doubt, but how many of these were "choices" made at the time?

Weinstein is sleaze, no doubt, but how many of these were "choices" made at the time? I would say most if not all of them went something like: Weinstein makes it clear that he's interested and that there will be jobs and the right kind of attention if a potential starlet plays ball (in this case with his), said starlet either took up on the offer or refused. Inappropriate? Most definitely. Illegal? Maybe depending upon the situation. Against company policy? On paper anyway yes. Douchey? Oh yeah. But were any of these women outright raped or assaulted? Probably not. California has a definition of rape, assault and harassment that largely no one else agrees with as it assumes a man is guilty simply because a woman accuses and absolves a woman of any part she may have played that was consensual at the time and she later decided she now feels bad about.

Jennifer Lawrence Reveals She was Made to Do a 'Naked Line-Up' & Told to Lose Weight Earlier in Her CareerAnother perfect example of what we've been talking about. She trips the whole thing up when she said “I let myself be treated a certain way because I felt I had to for my career.” That right there is the end of it. The headline of course says "she was made to do" it. No one made her do anything. She was told as a condition of this job you have to do this in order to be considered for the role. She chose of her own free will and volition to concede to do that. Nothing about it was illegal or immoral. They said you want this part then you need to be willing to strip down and undergo an inspection of your body. She agreed against her own better judgement then that's her fault for compromising her own principles for a job. That entire industry is about image on screen and off. Seems that some of these "stars" are just now starting to catch on to that.

New Jersey Teacher Tells Students: Speak 'American'More "I know my rights" people staging a protest. Time and place and appropriateness people. You are in the United States of America. Despite our Congress lack of balls to declare English our official language it most certainly is the language of record and predominant use. When your teacher tells you not to speak another language in class, because you're in a Math class not a Spanish class then its time to shut up your talk about baseball, pay attention in class and contribute to the discussion on the topic at hand in the same language everyone else is using. The media being their usual disingenuous selves in an attempt to smoke up some outrage tried to make this look like the whole school walked out in protest. It says the school has over 1,100 students and less than 10% actually participated in the walk out until one of said protesters committed a felony and pulled the fire alarm causing the school to be evacuated (a fact they mention but just sort of gloss over) thus roping in the whole school as tacitly approving of the protest by simple virtue of being out of class with the protesters.

I notice per the usual she's not naming names or citing specific acts or instances and only just now bringing this up some 20 years later when its all completely unable to be corroborated and unverifiable. She have a book or movie coming out or something? Getting real sick of people labeling women like her as brave and heroic for "coming out" with these stories. What's brave about it? She got all the advantages from these supposed encounters years ago and NOW its a problem for her only when the band wagon has rolled into town and every celebrity in Hollywood is jumping on board? The reason these women didn't want to talk before now is they chose to partake in these acts to get ahead. They made a conscious willing choice to participate in something that while inappropriate and not something an industry should knowingly allow they are just as complicit in engaging in and perpetuating. Pointing this out only gets cries thrown in your direction of "victim" shaming. I would ask these simple question of each of them: Were you sexually assaulted? Not California sexually assaulted. Actually assaulted as in the legal definition accepted in the other 49 states. Or were you made an inappropriate offer that you possibly begrudgingly but willing accepted and in exchange for your silence on the matter received financial and career benefits? Guaranteed 9/10 if they answered truthfully would have to say the second but would try to weasel out of it and say... But... but...
