Picked up my first Yakuza game today. Yakuza 0 on the PS4 has been what I've played a majority of the day. I don't really have a whole lot that I can say about it.The combat feels good, getting the grips on the different mode and the flow. The story has peaked my interest and I feel like it is a plot thst can carry me through. I haven't got to screw around with Karaoke only what the story has let me. I already feel like addicted to this game. I'll drop more info as i continue to play.

Such a captivating story from multiple perspectives, and fluid combat. I've also played Yakuza 2 and 3, and enjoyed them, but Yakuza 4 was such a huge step-up.

One of my youtube friends really pushed me to play it. The only thing that has ever stopped me is no dubs since i have to read the subtitles and i read slow sometimes. It hasn't been too bad. I'd imagine you'd want to play 0 and 6. My friend says its an emotional game.

Heh, the sidequests are great across all the Yakuza games, but 0 really knocks them out of the park. They're almost all hilarious. And they're definitely worth doing - most sidequests reward you with gear that makes progress much easier in the long run. And since you're doing them in story order, a lot of 0's sidequests have follow-ups in Kiwami.

Actually, Tonberry, I'm a little envious of you. They've announced that all of Yakuza is getting an HD update (Kiwamization?) and there really isn't a better time to play them for the first time.

The Yakuza games definitely do a good job of mixing in some light-hearted humor which brightens up the intense stories. I remember in Yakuza 4 a women's underwear thief side quest with it's own funny side story.

**A YAKUZA 0 UPDATE**
I've been continuing my journey with Yakuza 0 days off and a vacation go very far. I'm currently sitting in chapter 4 and am play as Goro Majima... I find him and Kiryu very interesting characters. The whole begging sequence at the cabernet just to meet Majima was pretty damn funny. Ive been investing way to mucj time into the side content some of them are hit and miss there are a few that feel like they are adding something to the game such as the cult sidequests, then there are some that just feel plain weird like the guy in the varsity jacket who has a dream to strut across the bridge without being beat up. Then we get into the outright creepy with the dominatrix sidequests. Still despite how weird it gets its still entertaining and very japanese lol. I like how one moment the game can be outright dark and dreary with serious elements entertwined into the plot then. One mission later can be quirky and funny all in one sitting. I'd compare this go fullmetal alchemist in some points in this regard but the humor much more over the top. I also enjoy how the game teaches you about Japanese culture and different mannerisms. One such sidequest shocked me when a girl who wanted you to pretend to be her boyfriend refered to Majima as Goro San and he said that was a bit soon to be calling him that. Just little nods like this has peaked myc curiosity. I'm gonna go back to playing it but I of course had to keep you guys updates.

I STILL need to try and really finish 5 and 0 and side content is the main reason why I never get anywhere. In 5 I'm at the part where you play as Kiryu's (eventual) adopted daughter Haruka. She doesn't go around and beat up thugs like everyone else; she has dance battles with other aspiring dancers. HOLY SHIT it's addictive. I have had a BLAST playing as her. Who would have guessed? And that's the real glory of the series; it's SO off the wall and makes SO many seemingly unrelatable things WORK.

I've decided to just continue with the story to this game and holy hell does this game get extremely intense with its story.

Obviously I'm not going to go into spoiler detail here but. I've been pressing through Yakuza 0's story and I'm not sure where to begin for starters I can give the general gist of things. The story focuses on a push for the Dojima Clan and the Tojo Clan fighting to get their grubby hands on The Empty Lot whoever owns this small piece of land pretty much is in control of the entire area. The catch is nobody knows just who owns this small piece of land. Kiryu beats the shit out of a guy to collect a debt only to be framed for his eventual murder and the story follows his journey to clear is name. Our second character Majima owns a Cabernet in which he is trying to pay off a large sum of debt to get back into the ranks of the Tojo Clan. His world is turned upside down when the very man he is trying to pay off tasks him to hunt down and kill somebody who is running a sex ring named Makoto.
I've got to say both stories are interesting and come together nicely. I haven't dabbled with the hostess club or the real estate yet. It's all a bit confusing.
