Dutch physicist Hendrik Lorentz set the foundation for Einstein's theory of special relativity with the Lorentz transformation. It explains why we need to measure every velocity separately, because electromagnetism doesn't work if you add velocities from multiple frames of reference together. Einstein used the Lorentz transformation as part of his theory of relativity to explain why mass can't accelerate faster than light. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorentz_transformation

After the sun expands, perhaps Saturn's moon Titan will have the most Earth-like conditions?

The International Space Station transiting the supermoon last night. The ISS orbits Earth at nearly five miles a second — this transit lasted only 0.58 seconds.

So according to the Quantum field theory, subatomic particles can occupy an unlimited number of positions at once and behave in an unlimited number of ways, which means it's impossible to calculate the position and momentum of a subatomic particle at the same time due to constraining either the position or momentum will smear out the subatomic particle even more...

Texas to use Japanese designed bullet train.Texas Central is planning to build a bullet train route that will cut between Dallas and Houston, trimming about 2 hours off the average driving time, and saving over an hour compared to air travel. The approximately 240-mile high-speed rail line will offer a total travel time of less than 90 minutes, with departures every 30 minutes during peak periods each day and every hour during off-peak periods — with 6 hours reserved each night for system maintenance and inspection. Texas Central plans to deploy Central Japan Railway Company’s (JRC) “N700-I Bullet” high-speed rail system based on the “Shinkansen” system.

Well, with Americans (or probably Mexicans) driving it I guess the world can finally learn what a Shinkansen crash looks like.

As someone who lives here I say I will believe it when I see it.
