I get this so much. I find people like that neighborhood organizer guy to be insufferable.

LOL!!!! I'M CHOKING HERE!La. Court Rules That Man Who Said ‘Give Me a Lawyer Dog’ Wasn’t Asking for Counsel
In the latest round of #FACTS that prove the court system does not work for black people—especially those who lack resources—a Louisiana high court ruled that a man who said “Give me a lawyer, dog,” was asking for a “lawyer dog.”
- BEST. ROOT. STORY. EVER!!!!

- BEST. ROOT. STORY. EVER!!!! This is how dumb and contrived The Root is. It's ambiguous because he said: “This is how I feel, if y’all think I did it, I know that I didn’t do it so why don’t you just give me a lawyer dog ’cause this is not what’s up.” He did not expressly ask for a lawyer nor did he cease to cooperate with and speak to the investigators that were questioning him. Hanging it on the "dog" part of the comment is just the lawyer trying to play on the "He's a poor dumb nigga in the South being mistreated by whitey" defense.

Herein lies the rub: “This is how I feel, if y’all think I did it, I know that I didn’t do it so why don’t you just give me a lawyer dog ’cause this is not what’s up.” Neither of those qualifies as a request for counsel. Edit: Not to mention what's the most important part? He ADMITTED to raping TWO JUVENILE GIRLS. Zero sympathy.
